Terms and Conditions for Private Tutoring

Academic Peak Tutoring – Private Tutoring Services

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the private tutoring services facilitated by Academic Peak Tutoring (“we,” “us,” or “our”) between freelance tutors (“Tutors”) and students/parents (“Clients” or “you”). By engaging in our services, you agree to the following:

 

1. Service Role

  • Academic Peak Tutoring facilitates connections between Clients and freelance Tutors.
     

  • Tutors are independent contractors and not employees of Academic Peak Tutoring.
     

  • Our role is to manage lesson records, invoicing, and payments on behalf of Tutors.
     

 

2. Lesson Records and Invoicing

  • Tutors are responsible for accurately recording the hours taught each month.
     

  • Invoices are issued by Academic Peak Tutoring by the 4th of each month at 11:59PM.
     

  • Each invoice reflects the cost of the previous month’s tutoring services.

 

  • The cost for one hour tutoring lessons will be made known to you before you are liable to commit any payments. 

 

3. Payments

  • Payments must be made in full by the 12th of each month at 11:59PM.
     

  • A late payment fee of $10 per day will apply to any overdue balance.
     

  • Failure to make payment may result in suspension or termination of tutoring services.
     

 

4. Trial Lesson Policy

  • We offer a free trial lesson to new students.
     

  • If the Client chooses to continue tutoring after the trial, the trial lesson will be included in the first invoice and must be paid for.
     

 

5. Academic Responsibility

  • Academic Peak Tutoring and its Tutors are not responsible for a student’s academic results, grades, or outcomes.
     

  • Tutoring is intended to support learning, but results may vary depending on student effort, consistency, and other factors.
     

 

6. Tutor Screening

  • To the best of our knowledge, all Tutors engaged through Academic Peak Tutoring hold valid Working With Children Checks (WWCC) or equivalent certifications.
     

  • Academic Peak Tutoring is not liable for any inaccuracies in Tutor-provided information.
     

 

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations must be communicated directly with the Tutor in a timely manner.
     

  • Missed lessons without prior notice may still be billed at the Tutor’s discretion.
     

 

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Academic Peak Tutoring is not liable for:
     

    • Any direct or indirect academic, personal, or financial outcomes from tutoring services.
       

    • Any disputes arising between Clients and Tutors outside of the agreed tutoring arrangement.

 

9. Disintermediation

  • Clients are not allowed to disintermediate. This means that they cannot request or accept an offer for tutors to provide lessons to anyone with a relation to the clients not on behalf of Academic Peak Tutoring. Clients and tutors may both need to pay a fine equal to 20 hours worth of tutoring.

 

10. Amendments

  • Academic Peak Tutoring reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes in advance.

 

By engaging in tutoring services through Academic Peak Tutoring, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
